We have 20 years experience of developing and putting into practice a Whole System Approach to sustainable change in the way organisations behave. We have found that the behaviours people adopt when they think of organisations as living systems give rise to:
  • productive partnerships
  • positive working across boundaries
  • local solutions to local concerns
  • Margaret Wheatley in her foreword to our book, Working Whole Systems , says 'Its authors speak from their hard-won wisdom; as you read their comments, you know you are in the presence of people who have been doing the work for a long time and spent long hours reflecting on its meaning and lessons'.

Our most recent publications have focused on when it's effective to take a Whole System Approach, releasing the resourcefulness of people self-organising in communities, networks and organisations (Working in systems: the landscapes framework);  and on the theory and practice of innovation from a living systems perspective (Innovation and public services: insights from evolution).
